During the next 500 years Rome was a Republic, a form of government where an elected Senate created laws for the people and no single individual person held absolute power. After 509 when Rome ousted the last king it threw off all guise of monarchy and despised the very word ‘ Rex’. A brave group of pirates met the call and found the Veil Stones. It was learned that an Ancient priest hid the Veil Stones away, and so the Pirate Lord put a call out for legendary pirates who would be brave enough to venture a race against Flameheart's forces to recover the Veil Stones. Their mission was a success, and the aretefact was in safe hands, however upon close inspection, Sir Arthur Pendragon noted that the Veil was missing its Veil Stones which empower it. In hopes to prevent this, Belle enlists the assistance of Merrick to hunt down the artefact's last known location: the belly of the Shrouded Ghost.Īfter almost failing to perform summoning ritual, Belle and Merrick were aided by a group of pirates and Sir Arthur Pendragon in battling the beast. The artefact's power is highly sought after by Captain Flameheart as part of his plan to conquer the Sea of Thieves. The Veil of the Ancients was created long ago by The Ancients it possesses mystical powers capable of breaking the barrier between The Sea of Thieves and the Sea of the Damned.
